Construction of a zirconium oxychloride project began on Sept 11 in the Liucheng Economic Zone of Chaoyang city, Liaoning province.
The project is invested with 1 billion yuan by Liaoning Huaxiang New Material Co Ltd. and is expected to realize an annual output value of 2 billion yuan after completion.
Zirconium oxychloride, an intermediate material for zirconium compound products, is an important raw material in the fine chemical industry and is mainly used for high-purity zirconia production. Thanks to its properties of high temperature and corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high strength, high-purity and the fact that it is non-toxic and harmless to human health, as well as its optical performance, high-purity zirconia has wide applications such as production of optical glass, biological ceramics, cellphone back casing and electron components, and is a significant material for national defense and military projects.
Next, giving full play to the Zirconium Oxychloride Industrial Park as a platform, Liaoning Huaxiang New Material Co Ltd. will help promote the joint development of industries involving zirconium sponge, high-purity zirconia, electronic ceramics and fumed silica in the Liucheng Economic Zone. Through expanding its industrial chain and attracting downstream industries, the company intends to build a complete and environmentally-friendly industrial chain of high relevancy and complementarity.
