Dalian Development Zone Grand Theater was officially put into use in January 2006, and is the largest domestic first-rate theater in Northeast China. Its building area spans 28,000 sq m, with the total investment of 350 million yuan ($48.96 million). With 1,263 seats on the whole three floors and 339 seats in its experimental theatre, the theatre has undertaken over 200 performances covering operas, ballets, symphonies and variety shows. More than 200 well-known artists from Germany, Austria, Russia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, the United States, Canada, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, Belarus, Turkey, Argentina, Israel and South Korea have performed on stage at Dalian Development Zone Grand Theater.
