On November 15, the World Robot Contest Championships 2024 - Dalian kicked off in Jinpu New Area. Over 8,000 participants from 10 countries competed fiercely across 17 major categories.
The Championships was jointly hosted by the China Institute of Electronics and the Organizing Committee of Dalian Jinpu New Area.
Hosting this event will further stimulate the technological innovation potential of Dalian and the broader Northeast China, driving the innovation-driven development strategy, strengthening new quality productive forces, and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.
As the flagship event of the World Robot Conference, the World Robot Contest consists of the World Robot Contest Trials (WRCT), the World Robot Contest Finals (WRCF) and the World Robot Conference Championships (WRCC). The contests primarily focus on science and research, skills, and science and technology popularization.
The World Robot Contest has been held nine times since 2015, earning the reputation of the "Olympics Games of the robotics field". It has also been included in the Ministry of Education's list of national competitions for primary and secondary school students and the results from many of its competition events have gained international recognition.
