Jinpu hosts 2024 Chinese New Year reception

On January 26, Jinpu New Area hosted the 2024 Chinese and Foreign Entrepreneurs New Year Reception. More than 300 entrepreneurs from China and abroad gathered together to look back at the past year's development and envision a bright future.

In 2023, with the concerted efforts of the government and enterprises in Jinpu New Area, key economic indicators such as Gross regional product (GRP), Gross Output Value of Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size, and Fixed Asset Investment all achieved steady growth and kept the fundamentals of the economy stable.

At the reception, the Jinpu New Area Administrative Committee formally recognized enterprises achieving milestones in 2023, including those listed as Leading Enterprises of High-Quality Development in Jinpu New Area in 2023, New Industrialization Demonstration Enterprises of Jinpu New Area from 2021 to 2023, Leading Enterprises of Integrated Development in Jinpu New Area in 2023, and New Breakthrough Enterprises of Jinpu New Area in 2023.

A representative from Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Dalian) Co Ltd said, "In 2023, our company successfully established the Volkswagen Group's first battery cell trial production line in Dalian in just 9 months. This is a historic step for the Volkswagen Group in transitioning to the production of components for new energy vehicles. We commend the administrative efficiency and excellent investment environment of Jinpu New Area."

Investment attraction is the "lifeline" of economic development, and major projects are the "cornerstone" for stable growth. In 2023, Jinpu New Area hosted over 300 investment promotions events in areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta. A total of 579 projects were successfully signed, with a total investment of 152.2 billion yuan ($21.15 billion). Additionally, 342 projects were launched with a total investment of 123.3 billion yuan. The paid-in foreign direct investment in 2023 reached $784 million, accounting for 82 percent of Dalian's total.
