The 3rd Dalian Jinshitan International Wedding Festival opened in Jinshitan National Tourism Resort of Dalian, a coastal city of Northeast China's Liaoning province, on the night of May 20.
At the opening ceremony, famous domestic singers, such as Hu Xia and Huang Ling, performed alongside dancers who wore traditional Chinese dress to convey a love story across three themed chapters.
At 9pm on the same day, the wedding festival was followed by 2.25 million people on short-video platform Douyin and relevant trending topics were read 9.16 million times on Weibo - the Chinese version of Twitter.
About 81,700 people visited Jinshitan National Tourism Resort on the same day.
