Iris Neubert has been working and living in Dalian Jinpu New Area, Liaoning province, for four years. She had many fond memories with her horse, Chester, whom she purchased in China.
In June, the German is set to leave China and return to her home country. She originally planned to leave Chester at Spring Field in Blueberry Valley for retirement and even donated over 20,000 yuan ($2,800) to provide a space for horses to move freely.
However, as her departure date approaches, Neubert became increasingly reluctant to part with Chester and decided to spare no expense to bring him home.
The horse recently left Dalian for Beijing, from where it will join three other horses before being sent to Shanghai to undergo quarantine. They will then fly to the US and the Netherlands. Finally, Chester will be reunited with Neubert in her hometown in Germany in June.
