​Jinpu New Area gets a good score in investment attraction

In 2022, Jinpu New Area achieved $1.53 billion in its actual utilization of foreign investment, a year-on-year growth of 33.95 percent, accounting for 76 percent of the whole city of Dalian and 25 percent of the whole province of Liaoning.

It also attracted 37.88 billion yuan ($5.62 billion) of investment from outside of the province, a year-on-year growth of 14.7 percent, accounting for 23.1 percent of the whole city and 5.8 percent of the whole province.

It also attracted 10.83 billion yuan of investment from within the province, a year-on-year growth of 20.3 percent, accounting for 27 percent of the whole city.

The above three indicators have all exceeded the annual targets ahead of schedule and all ranked first in the city, hitting record highs. The region’s foreign-capital invested projects include SK Hynix in Dalian and Jumo; its domestic-capital invested projects include the China Resources smart science and technology park and the high purity hydrogen project of China Catalyst Holding Co.

Jinpu New Area added a total of 225 new foreign-funded market entities throughout the year, 102.3 percent of its target, with a year-on-year growth of 7.7 percent, and accounting for 65 percent of the whole city. Its total volume of imports and exports is estimated to be 233.5 billion yuan, accounting for 50 percent of the city and ranking first in the city, a year-on-year growth of 0.21 percent. Its exports reached 107.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 17.8 percent. It is expected to complete a total volume of retail sales of 43.49 billion, ranking first in the city for the total volume and third for its growth rate.

In 2022, Jinpu New Area added 1,867 reserve projects with a total investment of 735.2 billion yuan, signed 420 projects with total investment of 200.7 billion yuan and carried out 225 projects with total investment of 142.3 billion yuan.

Strategic emerging industries, represented by the metaverse, new energy, intelligent equipment manufacturing, and the new generation of information technology, accounted for 59 percent of the key projects of Jinpu in 2022, a year-on-year growth of 15 percent. The number of projects above 100 million yuan accounted for 56 percent, and the total investment accounted for 90 percent.
