Dalian Port in Jinpu New Area recently completed the first shipment of imported maize from Bulgaria.
Dalian Port has reached a throughput of 1.97 million tons this year, a year-on-year increase of 25 percent. The throughput of grain is 1.45 million tons, up 11 percent year-on-year; the throughput of maize imports is 53,000 tons, accounting for over 30 percent of that of Northeast ports. The throughput of domestic maize is 800,000 tons, up 140 percent year-on-year; and that of general cargo is 520,000 tons, up 93 percent year-on-year.
