China's short track speed skaters win the country's first gold

China claimed its first gold at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games in the 2,000m mixed team relay of short track speed skating on Feb 5.

The Chinese quartet of Qu Chunyu, Fan Kexin, Ren Ziwei and Wu Dajing, clocked in two minutes and 37.348 seconds to win the event. Italy took the silver and Hungary bagged the bronze.

China's short-track speed skater Qu Chunyu is a resident in Jinpu New Area, Dalian. Her parents and relatives watched the live broadcast together at home and witnessed the glorious moment.

Qu Chunyu, 2016 junior world champion, won two silver medals in women's 500m and 3,000m relay at ISU Dresden World Cup in 2020.
