A culture and trade delegation from the Fiji-China trade commission visited Northeast China's Liaoning province on Oct 15-18, to seek further trade between the two countries, according to local reports.

During their visit in Shenyang, delegation members met officials from the Liaoning association of industry and commerce, the Liaoning council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade -- and attended the China-Fiji (Liaoning and Shenyang) Cultural and Economic Exchanges and Promotions Seminar.

During the seminar, representatives from the Shenyang council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Fiji-China trade commission discussed commerce and companies from the two sides also signed agreements in such areas as medicine, healthcare, pharmacy, culture, tourism and others.

The delegation also paid visits to the Shenyang Palace Museum, the Ci'en Temple and other historical places -- to learn more about Shenyang’s history and culture, as well as the city's development in the tourism sector.

They also visited the BMW Brilliance plant, to gain a knowledge of auto production and processing.

The visitors also took in cultural performances in Shenyang, according to the organizers.

Officials said that the event would help strengthen the partnership between Fiji and Liaoning province and deepen cooperation in culture, tourism, trade, investment and other fields.
