A state-of-the-art computer plant that is being operated by Tongfang Computer Company started production on Aug 6 in the Hunnan district of Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, according to a report in the People’s Daily.
Officials said the plant covers an area of about 140,000 square meters. It has installed a completely automated computer production line from assembly, debugging, final inspections to packaging.
They said it comes equipped with production, testing and inspection equipment, and also has an engineering center and a R&D test center.

A company spokesman said it can independently design, develop and produce anything from motherboards to complete computers.
The center has an annual production capacity of 300,000 units and an annual output value of 1.5 billion yuan ($215.36 million) to 2 billion yuan.
Shenyang officials said the operations of the computer plant also marks a breakthrough for Shenyang city in improving its integrated capabilities and industrialization levels in the information technology applications innovation industry.
In recent years, Shenyang has been developing its digital economy and new generation information technology in such areas as 5G, the industrial internet, the big data industrial chain and new smart city systems.
