The First Hospital of China Medial University in Shenyang is a large comprehensive 3A-grade hospital with a glorious revolutionary tradition and long history. It was founded in the early 20th century.
The hospital put forward the idea of "prioritizing patients" in 1995 and since then has proposed many innovations. It now has become a well-known regional emergency and critical illness treatment center at home and abroad. Its contributions to the fight against serious emergencies such as SARS and foot-and-mouth disease were honored by the country and the World Health Organization.
The hospital has a building area of 335,000 square meters, with 2,249 sickbeds and 4,350 staff members. The annual number of outpatients and emergency visits reached 3.35 million and the annual number of patients discharged amounted to 159,000.
