Shengjing Grand Theater was formerly known as the Shenyang Cultural Arts Center. The theater, shaped like a diamond, has a total construction area of about 85,000 square meters. Its main building consists of 1,626 grand theaters, 1,222 concert halls and 405 multi-purpose small theaters. Put into operation on Oct 1, 2014, the theater can stage a number of theatrical performances such as dramas, opera, ballet, concerts and fashion shows. The sophisticated acoustics of the theatre match those of the National Center for the Performing Arts.
