Dalian Export Processing Zone, one of the first 15 pilot export processing zones in China, was established in April 2000 upon the approval of the State Council. Covering a planned area of 2.95 square kilometers, it enjoys preferential policies such as tax exemption and bonded tax, providing 24-hour clearance service for goods.
Currently, more than 70 domestic and foreign enterprises have settled in the zone. Initially Dalian Export Processing Zone was focused on leading industries such as household appliances, light industry, machinery, building materials, and medical devices. A large international trade market dominated by automobiles and petroleum has also emerged, with a supporting warehousing and logistics system.
