Shenyang Expo Garden -- also known as Shenyang Botanical Garden in Shenyang, the capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province -- held an environmental protection-themed activity on Oct 13.
Around 1,000 children and their parents and teachers participated in the event. Together they created a 1,000-meter painting themed on love for the country and environmental protection.
Hosted by Shenyang tourism group, Shenyang sports industry group, and Shenyang Botanical Garden, the activity aimed to promote constructive education and environmental protection -- as well as to increase parent-children interactions, according to the organizers.
Shenyang Botanical Garden, a national 5A-level tourist attraction, currently boasts more than 2,000 species of plants and a wild range of animals and insects.
It also has nearly 100 city exhibition areas, displaying history and the human and natural culture of cities around the world.
Science popularization halls, reading rooms and other places suitable for learning are available to children, according to its directors.
